A Content Delivery Network (CDN) overwhelm the user experience and page speed alongside with caching and image optimization.
CDN can handle the following type of files:
All type of web images
Multimedia files (video and audio)
Libraries and documents
The purpose of using a CDN is to make the website load faster and offer users a better user experience, however, the problem : which company is best for my website ?
I decided to create a small list of companies that i thnk it offers the best solutions for CDN, with some of them I've worked. For each CDN i've added a link for the common plugins/modules of the CMSs like: Drupal, WordPress and Joomla.
This is a cloud based solution from Amazon offered for free for the 1st year.
Currently OVH does not have any plugins/modules for the most common CMSs, however, I do hope that they will have some day as their services are really good and the support team is really fast.
The only module i've found was for Drupal. Dissapointed, because Bootstrap is using this company to store their files.
In conclusion you will have to use the best solution for yourself, however, before selecting any of them make sure you are fully documented and the security is not an issue. Personally I would recomment AWS (Amazon CDN), as their services are always updated and the customer support is really fast.
If you can find any other modules/plugins for the CDNs presented above, please email me and I will update this article.
